Board Member - Viking

Arnold Hanson

Arnold Hanson

Arnold Hanson lives on the family homestead farm north of Viking. He's been raising beef cattle since showing his first 4-H steer at the age of 6. He and his wife Mary have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. He sees the REA as a vibrant and credible institution that continues to have a central place in the economic growth and stability of rural Alberta. "The REA's success story is largely due to its strategic business plan being closely connected to the wishes of an involved and committed membership."

Arnold's previous Board roles include Chairman of Provincial FCSS, Battle River Alliance for Economic Development (BRAED) and Northern Lights Library System. He served as Provincial Chairman of Alberta Beef Producers' Promotions and Producer Liaison Committees; he was Reeve of Beaver County as well as a County Councillor. Currently he sits on the executive of BRAED.

Volunteer activities include 4-H judging and supporting mission work locally and internationally with Mission to Many, Viking. He enjoys horseback riding, travelling with Mary to new places and especially grand parenting.
