James Matthews
Board Member - Hardisty
James (Jim) Matthews has been with the Association since 1985. Jim states, "the REA has been an integral part of my life. It all started when my father was a board member many years ago. I have had the pleasure of being a board member in various capacities since the 1980's to the present. These are changing times in the REA world and I am proud to be a part of this organization."
Other Boards, Committees and Community Services Jim has been, or is currently involved with include: Director for the Flagstaff Family Farm Promotional, Chairperson with the Hardisty/Hughenden United Church for over 29 years, Chairperson with the Contract Policy Committee, and became a Flagstaff County Councilor in 2013.
Jim was born and raised in Hardisty, Alberta. He obtained his Diploma in General Agriculture Technology at Vermillion College, and has been operating a mixed farm consisting of beef cow/calf and grain since 1972.
Jim's hobbies include welding and mechanics and spending time with his wife Ricci, their 5 children, and 9 grandchildren.
